UK handmade spotlight – Wild thing funky little dresses

Welcome to Great British family, the blog showcasing what Great Britain has to offer families. Today we are pleased to start one of our regular features showcasing the beautiful items for families made here in the UK. Let us introduce you to one of our favorite handmade ranges made in the UK  – Wild thing funky little dresses.

Designed and handmade in the UK by Kirsty Hartley, a mother herself. These stunning dresses have been featured on blogs around the world, were babble’s number 6 in their list of the top 50 etsy baby shops of 2012 and are now available, not only through etsy but several online retailers such as not on the high street.

We can see why they are so popular. There are the fun, whimsical, animal inspired play dresses and also the brightly coloured dresses and rompers with their subtle retro influences.  The range takes inspiration from elements of childhood nostalgia, the simplicity of Scandinavian design,60’s & 70’s styling. Most items are available from age 0-7. As well as dresses and rompers, there are a small selection of hats, bags and aprons available on etsy. Prices for the dresses range from £25-£44.

Here at Great British family we love these dresses and are proud that they are designed and handmade here in Great Britain (scroll down for a selection of our favorites). You can find them on etsy and facebook. If you are looking for adorable clothes for little boys, we are pleased to announce that Kirsty is working on a boys range due to be released late August. We can’t wait to see it.
